” I am not one to write reviews or testimonials but I am making an exception in this case. Midway through 2022, I stumbled upon an attractive lot in Stevensville, Md, with a HowMar Homes sign posted on it. Though I’ve owned several homes in my lifetime, none of them were newly constructed custom dwellings. Frankly, I was a bit scared and intimidated to step out of my comfort zone and travel down this road. Well, as they say, “nothing ventured, nothing gained.” I called the number on the sign that eventually led to a meeting with Bob Oliff (builder/owner). It turned out to be a rewarding adventure with the end result being a beautiful HowMar home where I currently reside.

I knew nothing about “construction to perm” loans and all the other intricacies surrounding the purchase of a home not yet built. Bob patiently walked me through all the steps from beginning to end, showing great patience when answering all my questions and addressing my concerns.

As to the construction; HowMar homes are solidly built and energy efficient. The workmanship and attention to detail are impressive, and I had the opportunity to watch it unfold from the ground up. The end result; a beautiful custom home that I am very proud of.

Since starting this journey back in July 2022, I’ve crossed paths with financers, other HowMar homeowners, neighbors, and building inspectors. Each and every one of these individuals had nothing but positive feedback concerning their experiences with HowMar Homes. I think that says something about this company’s dedication to provide high quality residences to their customers.

In the beginning of this process Bob Oliff was just another builder and HowMar Homes just another home construction company. By the time I took possession of my new home in February 2023, Bob was friend. “
