  1. Find the right lot– Choose a lot which best suits your desire and needs. The location, topography, Utilities, and ground conditions are key factors to think about when deciding on a lot. If assistance is needed HowMar Homes can help. With many Realtors in their network, your lot is sure to be found.
  2. Choose a home/floor Plan– Pick a plan from the HowMar Homes collection or bring your plan. If assistance is needed just ask a HowMar representative who will be happy to locate or coordinate with a plan designer for you.
  3. Get an accurate cost to build– A representative from HowMar Homes will visit the site to quote an estimate for any site improvements needed. This information along with the base house cost, option cost, and land cost will complete your budget. Once completed you are ready to start the next step.
  4. Apply for financing– Meet with a Mortgage representative to start the construction to Permanent financing process. HowMar Homes has many relationships with construction lenders assuring you receive competitive terms and conditions. 0-30 days “Qualification time”
  5. Hire an engineer– HowMar Homes will assist with finding the right engineer. The engineer completes a feasibility study assuring no unforeseen problems will be encountered. The engineer will also create the site plan with the home selected to be submitted to the county for the approval process. While waiting for approvals you will complete your flooring and final color selections 30-45 days from time of contract.
  6. Pre-construction meeting– Before actual construction of the home begins; you will meet with a HowMar Homes Representative to review the construction documents. At this meeting you will also have an opportunity to discuss any questions about the building process or the timeline to completion.
  7. Construction / Communication-Prior to starting construction you will be assigned a HowMar Homes representative who will be your go to person. They will keep you updated and assist with any questions that arise during the home build. Your home will be inspected by various government agencies. This along with a HowMar Homes quality manager assure your home is built to the highest standards.
  8. Pre-Closing meeting– This meeting is with the manager who built the home and takes place prior to settlement. Documentation of punch list items along with the homes operating procedures, selections, and warranty program will be reviewed at this meeting.
  9. Turnover of the Home– All County approvals and bank final payment has been received. Congratulations!!! It is Time to move into your new HowMar Home.
